Heat index for today 110, tomorrow 115+! Will be inside and unable to work on the truck by necessity not by choice, funny how a job gets in the way of enjoyment!
Did get to work on Gracie all this past weekend tho. Built my front pivot hood hinges, but ran out of daylight to finish bolting them up last night. Set I built Sat didn't work as planned, so I had to re-engineer and build another set. Dang it Ford, why couldnt you have put a straight edge on the hood opening?
Be SURE to drink plenty of water if you are going to be outside, at least a quart an hour! (If you aren't having to pee at least every two hours you aren't drinking enough!) Don't wait until you feel thirsty, that's too late!!!! Heat stroke can be fatal, don't mess around. We kept a large igloo style insulated jug full of ice water and glasses right beside where we were working and drank a glassfull ~ every 15 minutes.

Sorry, boys. Don't want to sound unsympathetic, but it seems that you guys have it much worse than us desert dwellers. Mid 90's here. Gonna have a cold front come in Wednesday... 80f. Where'd I put that sweater?

And I bet your cold beer doesn't even "sweat" due to the low humidity there, eh Peter?

Greg, gotta say you do a lot better than me with those foam brushes. When I use 'em it always ends up looking like my 3-year-old grandson's work.

105* in the shade today in Sacramento! But that's really not too bad. When I was a kid growing up in Holtville CA, now that was hot! 122* will fry eggs on the sidewalk. As a matter of fact, it was so hot that at night we had to leave chunks of dry ice under the hood or when you came out in the morning all the coolant would be boiled out on the ground!!! Jag

It's so hot here today that my shadow went up in smoke!

I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.

Hey, remember we still have August and September to go. And for those people who said I was crazy for loving the weather in winter. I'll I can say is I told you so! September does bring Route 66 to San Bernardino, I wish it was more like a October event(cooler). I see some nice trucks out there Fords of course. But not as many as I once did. Where did they go?

Wishin we were chillin, Dylan1952

Wow , just went outside to start stripping the paint off the cab. It's 56 degrees here in KC. BTW that Airplane stripper really stinks.
