reflash do to hot weather?

I vegas we have had consistant 110+ days. driving during the day my truck is a dog! i know that hot air is not as dense and therefor doesnt make as much power as cold air but i drove my buddies truck and his doesnt realy dog as bad. i asked a tech at a local dealership and he suggested to have the computer reflashed. Anyone think this will help? or heard of this being an issue in hot climates? my truck is an 01 F-150 with the 5.4, im thinking that my K&N is prob not helping when its so hot out, anyone had any luck with volant intakes?
thanks

You don't have to re flash it just disconnect the neg battery for 10 min this reset the brain then when you drive it the brain re learns every thing.
