Loss of power

This morning after getting off work I had a sudden loss of power. It was like my foot had slipped off the pedal. Truck would get up to speed, I could hear the turbo spinning but no real acceleration. Getting onto the freeway it took it's time getting up to speed but was able to maintain it. No rough running, guages all were indicating normally. Cruise worked fine but just lacking that power you feel when you accelerate. Haven't looked at anything yet, will do that after I get up later. Was planning on oil/filter change plus fuel filter this weekend. Will check turbo pipes and all things obvious. Looking for some pointers. 96k on truck.

This sounds like MAP sensor failure to me.

Thnx for the info Kwik. Got a question. My experience with electronics is when they fail, they fail. My problem seems to have cured itself. When I got up, I went out and looked things over. Nothing obvious. So next I checked for any responses to my post plus did some forum searches. Determined I needed to have it scanned for any fault codes. Not having a code reader I was going to take it down to Autozone and have them pull any codes. Headed down the road. Truck was running fine/normal. Turned around and came home. Drove to work tonight, ran fine. Could a sensor fail intermittantly?
Map sensor prices- Autozone- $69.00/ Ford- $102.00/ Pacific Coast truck(Interntl)- $85.00

I've never heard of a MAP coming back. Anything's possible, however.
Hmmmmm.
Cookie88 went through something like this a few months back and it turned out to be a failing fuel pump. His truck would come and go like that and having his flip-chip turned up to extreme would exaggerate the problem. It turned out that his pump would supply enough fuel at low demands, but when he really stepped on it and the fuel demand went up, it acted like it was defueling. I forget the name of the thread, but that was the conclusion to the problem. Maybe PM him and see how it's working?
