Hey! How much does the autowrecker want for an E4OD? To rebuild one would be expensive (probably at least $3000 or so). Is it something you are swapping out yourself? Make sure you have a good tranny jack. Those E4ODs are one of Ford's heaviest transmissions. I have a couple C6s (1988s) and an AOD (1987) laying around but not an E4OD, sorry.

How do you feel about coming to Toronto? I might get a ride to Grand Bend June 10, but it's real iffy.
The guy I'm thinking of has lots of used trannies fairly cheap. Sometimes you get lucky with used. Sometimes not.
Send me an email, not a PM, if you want the phone #.

I just checked out the prices at www.car-part.com, all I can say is ouch! I thought a ZF was expensive until I saw the E4OD prices! The cheapest in Ontario (according to that site) was $500 at S&L Auto Recyclers. Do they still have the $50 all you can carry?

Good luck trying to carry one of those Bad Boys! One of Ford's heaviest trannys. Also very expensive to rebuild...

$500.... OK. What kind of warranty are they giving for that price?
I'm not really a big fan of used trannies, but we're talking new, really expensive to rebuild, electronic units, so is used an acceptable "lesser of two evils" now? I'd like to hear something in the order of a 90+ day warranty as bare minimum.
