Well, there's probably a few of your FTE brethren driving there from the seaboard, you can hop a ride with one of them! It would be like ping-pong! Hawaii to Boston to KC; KC to Boston... you get the idea!

Surely one of the FTE guys is driving in from LA or San Fran. That ought to be a cheap flight. It would probably add a day or two to the trip, but it would be more fun. I love road-trips :-)

MCI is not considered to be an airline HUB so it is more expensive to fly into. It is too spread out to be an efficient place to change airlines etc. It has three horseshoe shaped terminals that were built before 9-11 for easy access to departing or arriving flights. Security costs are high because there are no "choke" points to run security. Every group of 2-4 gates has its own security checkpoint. You can't even go to the restroom or get a drink without going thru a checkpoint to leave the "secured" area and to enter it again. It was a nice design before 9-11 for KC residents but we pay a big price because it was not designed as a hub. There was no decent transportation system to get between the three terminals except to wait outside in the weather for a bus connection. If they had a subway or something it would have had a chance to be a hub back in the old days but they went "cheap" with the bus system. They could still redesign the terminals to make it more secure and add an aerial "tram" but it would be a major project.

I dunno... flying 2500 miles to drive 1500 miles with somebody you have never met face to face, and then having to drive all the way back with them... might be pretty creepy....

LMAO

Take the Boston flight and a parachute. When you pass over Kansas (It will be easy to see from the air becuase it will be the only state that is a rectangle that has a corner bitten out of it) Jump! And while you're at it carry an American flag with you. We'll play the national anthem and you can be our opening ceremony.

Try checking OK city, or Denver. Close enough to be a short drive with whoever you ride with

OK, fly into Dallas and I'll pick up all you chumps on the way.....provided the project makes it that far :-)

If everybody pitches in 20 cents a mile (some will have to ride in the back), I might only have to spend $500 to get there :-) But, if she don't come apart, we'll get there fast....

All,

MCI is Kansas City International Airport, really very close to the site of the Rally. From the airport you can quickly hop on south-bound I-435 (this is the western section of the loop that runs around the city...). The Woodlands is no more than 20-25 minutes away from the airport.

KMCI = Mid Continent International
The K infront of the airport code identifies it as being in the US
Same goes for the N preceding an aircraft's ID number
From what I've been told.

Here's a quiz question, what cities are served by the airport identified by KXNA

XNA is Fayetteville, AR, USA - Northwest Arkansas Regional If you put the K in front to make a ICAO code out of the FAA code which is 3 letters.

MCI or if you add the K is Kansas City, MO, USA - Kansas City International Airport

Mid-Continent is ICT out of Wichita,KS
