keypad default code location?
Anyone had to track down the factory default code for their keypad door locks? The manual says to look for a sticker on the computer. Best I can tell, that means the unit bolted to the firewall on the passenger side in the engine compartment. But there's nothing on there that looks like a keypad PIN. The service guy at the dealer just kind of shrugged, "I think it's hidden under the dash somewhere". Then he offered to hook it up to their reader for 80 bucks to tell me the code. Riiight...
So, fellow FTEers, any suggestions?

I had a problem with this and took it to the dealer and they hooked it to the computer and gave me the number. The only location physically is the card you get when you buy your truck.

The code is on a black module behind the back seat on the cab wall. Just completed this seat removal crisis and was glad its over. Simple though , just cram a 1x4 between the bottom bar and the seat bar. Push back and jack up at the same time.Remove the nuts in the middle belt box first though.

Can anyone think of a good secure place we could write down our keypad code on the outside of the vehicle?I know for myself it would be nice to have it written down where it would be accessible in case of an emergency.A permanent marker or Sharpie might work?Finding the hidden location is the big question. It would need to be a place that stays fairly clean and dry. Thanks!

Open codes
If you ever need to write down a PIN or locker combo, just find a 10 letter word or phrase where the letters aren't duplicated.
IE: FURNACE OIL
This way you can write "FOAC" (1,8,5,6) and no one will know what it means.. It's a little awkward at first, but I've been using "my" word for almost 20 years & it's come in handy and I can code/decode it instantly...
Good Luck & I hope this helps..
