Question 4.6 engine

hi guys , this might sound like a really stupid question since this is my first 4.6 engine i can,t seem to find the oil filter, where is this thing located?, i crawled underneath the frame and looked in every nook and cranny with no succes the manuel only shows where it is located on a 4.2(v6) motor but is silent on a 4.6. i knew i was in a little trouble with this motor when i first opened the hood and could not locate the spark plugs now when its time to change the oil the filter has disapeared on me ,any suggestions? by the way the vehicle i have is a 98 ford F-250 4x4, thanx in adavance for any suggestions......

Look in the drivers side front area. If it isn't on the front left side of the block, search up front near the core support area. It may have a remote oil filter.

suggestion, Buy a $12 Haynes Manual from Autozone... They alot of basic info that will help you..

http://www.haynes.com/na.html

There are 4 plugs on each side, follow the plug wires... the rear plugs are hard to get to.

thanx for the url.. a 4.6 motor is not confiquered like a normal stock engine where the plugs and oil filter should be easily visible the 4.6 has its plugs on top of the motor as compared to 4 on each side which are easily identifieble on a standrad engine by following the plug wires, as for the filter it was not on the block or in the vicinity of the engine it is a matter of fact under or in the front bumper(no wonder i couldn,t find it) drivers side, which only goes tp prove that i am never to old to learn something new everyday....cheers!
