03 5.4 2v vs. 05 3v 5.4

i drove an 03 supercrew fx4 lariat around for awhile before i bought my new 05 fx4 supercab. both with 5.4's and 3.73's

am i the only one who feel like the 3v's arent any more powerful?? it actually feels sluggish to me because of the fly by wire throttle. the 03 would put my head back in the seat, but my 05 feels like it doesnt have any kick until above 3k rpm. Im just having trouble feeling the supposed 40 more hp. the seat of the pants meter tells me they are about the same i mean dont get me wrong, they both move along great! but i was expecting to feel more power than the old 2v had????

I still own an 02 F150 Scab, plus the new 04 f150 Screw Lariat. I don't drive the 02 as often, but I definitely notice the power difference. I think the only issue is that the new truck is far more refined with lower road noise, and you don't feel as much from the cab. Definitely more powerful, though. try towing, you'll really feel it.

maybe its just the sluggish response of the fly by wire throttle??

does an exhaust make much a difference on these trucks??? like more than 5 hp??

how about the intake? it seems likeit flows pretty well the way it is

Going to dual flowmasters, I picked up a some acceleration. Adding a tuner, exhaust and intake will definitly have you feeling more power. When all else fails, supercharge the beast for all the fun you want.

I agree. The older 5.4 just seemed to have ALOT more kick. I guess the only thing that I am not taking into account is the weight of the vehicles......

i agree that the new 3 valve is more sluggish. Reflashing doesn't help. Sure is smooth and quite though.
