Drive Shaft Cross reference Chart

I recently had my M5OD stick replaced with a C6 Auto on my 95 F150 Extended and the mechanic cut down the front half of the 2 piece drive line instead of replacing it with the proper piece. I now have a slight vibration and would like to know what vehicles would have the correct front shaft. (Keep in mind 1992-96 F150s did not come equipped with C6) Would different years have the corrct lenth and diameter shaft possibley a Van ? What about converting it to a one piece unit ? Oh, engine = 4.9 I6. P.S., going back to the same mechainic is not an option because he kept my truck for 6 weeks and nearly cost me a divorce !

Thanks, Chet

Are the two shafts properly phased?

Not sure what "properly phased" means, but I can say that the front shaft has some dents in it (caused by me when I did the u-joints) so that may be why it vibrates. I really want to replace it with a correct lenth shaft from a F250 or Heavy duty Van

Yeah, those dents will cause it to vibrate, so replace the driveshaft or it will eat up u-joints like crazy. The C6 tranny was available in the 87-91 trucks, so look for one of those. The van driveshaft will most likely be too different to work. I also think that your wheelbase is too long for a 1 piece driveshaft since you have a supercab.

Thanks Jim, any idea what year and model of Van or Truck wiould have the correct drive shaft (2 piecw) for my 95 F150 Extended (Super?) cab with C6 ? I am not sure what the wheel base is, but I know that will have to match up.

Thanks, Chet
