Question 302 vs 302W ??? What is the difference or is there one?

I am researching a cheap set of headers for my 69 with a 289 but there are sites that list headers for a 302W, I thought the only 'W' engine was a 351....HELP! As I understand it the 302 headers should fit on the 289. Found a set of flowtech's for 86.99 and I want headers but am running out of $$$ and this is the cheapest I have found. Any help is appreciated.

All small block Fords are Windsors (260, 289,302, 351W). The 302 headers will fit your 289. I am not sure but I think Hi-Po 289 heads have a different bolt pattern though. Those Flow-techs will work (assuming they're for your chassis application).

The "W" reference is to distinguish the Boss 302 from 1969-70 which used Cleveland-style heads.

also the 351w gets tagged on more offten becuse there are 2 other 351 that were fairly common durning the 70' and 80s. Those being 351c, clevlend, and the 351m , modified or Michigan. I do wish the Boss 302 had been more common to have made it necessary to label all 302's W's or B. I have a Boos in my early Bronc.
