hey guys i am wondering whats the deal with the new emissions system, also my other question is how are they testing diesels are they just checkin opacity(sp) or what imho this emissions stuff is crap
DMV is sending letters out and also the places to go. I just got the letter for my car that expired in early 2004. My truck expired in jan 2005. I don't see myself getting a letter for a while. I'm not sure what they are doing for the diesel trucks mines a gasser.
I just got a letter to take my diesel in and get it done. When the truck was tested a few years ago I asked the tech what exactly is the purpose of testing the diesel? His reply was, I've never seen a diesel fail. I guess it's just for the money. If your worry is the new exhaust I can ask some questions if you want. An old friend of mine is doing testing in his used car dealership.
What about Gas engines? My truck is a 82 & I changed the engine to a 460 from a 351W. Is the 25 year old exemption still in place? My truck will soon hit 25. My 1973 Camaro does NOT need to go thankfully.
You are correct they are no longer putting the stickers on you windshield. They go by the registration sticker. No emissions then no registration sticker.
they might hit u with a fine i think its only like 25 bucks but if i remember correctly they weren't testing 3 months ago but then again i can be wrong
Its a gas truck but i has alot of miles on it that doesnt help at all.last time i went years ago it failed it need an oxygen sensor.I think i may put a new one on before i go if there not to much.Do you think i could buy a oxygen sensor at an auto parts store or would i have to go to ford to get a new one?im sure its not to hard to put in?
you can get them at an autozone or a napa ehh sometimes they can be a B*tch to get out depends if it was me i woudl probly try it first before i spent the money on the sensor good luck
