Unhappy Truck towed back to ford.... Help!!!

The other night I was driving home and my truck went into a fail/safe mode. It wouldn't pick up speed or anything. I didn't know what the hell was going on. I got home and left it running for a few minutes. I popped the hood and I could hear a ticking coming from the engine. I know a little about vechiles but not a lot. If you heard a ticking coming from the engine, what do you think it was? I think that the valve was hitting the cylinder wall. What do ya'll think? The ford dealership called me today and said that they replaced the computer. I assuming they are talking about the ecu. They said that it was causing everything to fire wrong. I don't know if I by that. Tell me what ya'll think. Even if the ecu was the problem wouldn't the fact that the valves did hit the cylinder wall cause problems down the with the engine. I guess I'm trying to figure out how reliable the truck will be now. I have always trusted ford but my truck only has 19,000 miles on it.

Yes if the valves hit the cylinder walls you'd have cause to worry. It would mean that your engine blew up
I think you need to trust your dealer on this one.

More than likely, the ticking you heard was one of two things. The Ford injectors are pretty noisy. It could have also been the valves ticking if the timing was being thrown off by the computer.

But hey, if they dealer says it's fixed, take it home.
