Nickname for our trucks?

Does anybody know of a nickname for the '67-'72 body style? The old F-1's are called 'Effies'; the '61-'66 are called 'Slicks'. I've always called our vintage 'Stripers' cuz of the prominent v-shaped 'stripe' that runs the length of them. We need a cool name, rather than '67-72 body style'.

Bumpsides? Since the molding is convex, unlike the 73-79 which is concave?

Striper & Stripper are 2 different things.

One takes their clothes off & the other puts pin-striping on

How about an F-Trooper's

or

Fleeter's?

i called my '67 Ol' Smokey cause when you mashed the the pedal to the floor, the ol' 352 would shoot 2 lines of blue smoke out the exhaust. Now that it has a rebuilt 390 4v with a lot of power, that name still remains but in a different way, if you know what i mean. if you look at the short bed f100s of the 67-72 year with big blocks, they were pretty fast, like if you wanted to take it to the strip to see what it would run in the quarter. If i were to give our year trucks a nickname, i would have to say strip teasers

we do need a name for our trucks, how bout something along the lines as "the customs" since the base model trucks had the custom cab emblem on the sides of the cab. At least thats what i think the base model is, correct me if im wrong.

I have never heard of a nickname for the 67-72's either. and I was just asking the guys in my area the same thing last week. I would have to say that it would have to be something to do with the "spear" on the side of the truck. one would really want it to be a cool sounding name, like slick, or effie, but those are obviously taken.

ford never offered a FLEET SIDE truck it was known as a STYLE SIDE for the wide bed and FLARE SIDE for the step side fleet side was a chevy term, so I will NOT call my truck a fleeter, besides that sounds kinda gay if you asked me, but I am a ford lover and I don't like chevy stuff.

someone needs to get intouch with someone really influential in the car hobby industry to help give it a name.... like Dennis Gage or Jay Lenno.

Back in the 70's the Ford pick-up was considered *THE TRUCK* compared to the other makes.

The Ford trucks where sold to companies that needed real trucks aka *Fleet's*
ie: I know this company that owns a Fleet of Ford PU's.

Same with F-Troopers.
The TV show F-Troop was comedy about Union Soldiers.
ie:"There goes a Troop of Ford Trucks" = F-Trooper's

F-Troopers can mean whatever you want it to mean.

You asked <> I replied

I could go with fleet, but fleeter sounds like some queer hand puppet on a childrens show.

how does this sound.........

"Hey, nice fleet!" or "Man that's a nice Fleet!"

sounds tough to me.

What did they call Charles Bronson's truck in that movie where they drove the crap out of the ford that established the "Built Ford Tough" moniker? and for that fact what was the name of the movie? hahaha. Imagine Chuck saying "Go get the fleeter from around back." he would NEVER have been a tough guy after that!!!! ahahahahaa

how about BFT for built ford tough? naaahhh sounds like a sandwich. man I am hungry maybe I'll drive the Fleet down to Subway and get a BFT.

discuss............

i think "the fleet" does sound pretty cool, some guy in a ricer pulls up next to a truck show, but then backs down because in front of the building stands the 8 cylinder, monster horsepower, insane torque truck crowd, known as "the fleet" i think its not too bad and kinda cathcy, besides, who wants to mess with "the fleet"?

Well I'm kind of new to Fords but I have recently inherited a '67 F100 that is light blue and my wife and I have affectionately named her "Baby Blue". Yes, I know it's not "bad" or "cool" but it's really not that kind of a truck anyway. It's really just a fun little truck. My "bad" truck is a '90 Chevy K5 Blazer which is known simply as "The K5".
