If you have a moon roof ...

My new 04 started making a funny loud noise when shutting the doors. Clearly something was hitting something and was caused by the sudden increase in pressure when the doors were shut.<O</O

I took it into the dealer today and the problem was the cavity for the moon roof. Apparently the head liner has enough of a gap that it flexes when the pressure of the door shutting and it slaps against the ceiling. The solution was to add some foam padding between the liner and the metal roof. According to the dealer, "they have to do it to all 150s with a moon roof".<O</O

I got it back today and problem solved. Very painless.<O</O

Overall, I love the truck.<O</O

Aubrey3,

I have to know...did you write your post on a differnet program and then cut-n-paste it on to here?

What's up with all the ??

They usually signify a start of a new paragraph in other programs. (The actual characters of : p )

Anyway, my moonroof doesn't seem to have that problem that yours did.

And it doesn't seem too loud when opened and all the windows are closed, either. I can still hold a conversation.

I have a moonroof and have the EXACT same problem! If you reach up and lift upward on the dome light while driving over bumps (like RR tracks), the annoying sound goes away completely. The sound also happens when closing the door. I was considering opening up the dome light to access the cavity and stuff some foam up there. Sounds like that is the quick fix. Thanks for the info. Now I know what to do.

yea Monsta, I cut it out of Word and pasted it here. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
