Econoline engine swap

Econoline engine swap
Hello to all. I just bought 2 ford econoline E-150s. One is a '78 cargo van and the other is an '84 camper conversion. They both have the 4.9L 300CID/3speed+overdrive. I just got my 84 running great and replaced the transmission; my 78, however, does not run. I can get a 460 for less than $100. Would a swap be worth it? Would the engine mounts be the same or would I have to get different ones? Oh, and how hard would it be upgrading the front suspension to the E-250/350 style?
thanks,
Joe

The 460 was a option on van's 1975 through 1980 they use a different mount that bolts to the frame you might be able to find a pair at your local used truck and car place aka junk yard. The main difference from 150 to 350 other than the bolt pattern on the wheels is the spring setup they use a heavyer spring than the 150, those parts can be found at a good junk yard as well. I have a 351 in mine and the only thing that I can see different the frame mounts. good luck with your project should you decide to do it.
