Question New tires for stock 18" wheel?

Has anyone found a deacent aftermarket tire that fits on the stock 18" X 7.5" wheel. So far everything I have looked at requires a wider wheel. If anyone has found an "all terain" or "mud terain" tire that fits the stock wheel, please post the location.

Thank you.

if you wait a bit a lot of the bigger brands are working on some tires that will fit stock rims. a lot of guys put bigger tires onto the stock rims and they have been doing ok.

My first set of tires worn out. I bought a set of new michelins on 18 inch wheels. It handles real good! By the way my lariat have over 50,000 miles.

Well, I bought a new F-150 Lariat supercrew 4x4 last jan. Yes I put over 50,000 miles in one year. It has been a great pickup. The only problem was a rear end making noises. The Ford replaced the whole new rear end under warranty. Now it doesn't have any problems.

I figured that some manufacture would come out with some good tires to fit the stock wheels. There has to be more than just me looking to replace the stock tires but unwilling to buy new wheels. I'll keep my eye out but if you find any please post the website here.

WHITRE What style of michelins did you buy?

Seriously dude, 50,000 miles! I've put on 30 thou so far and I that that was allot. I also love my truck and have had no problems besides a minor vibration issue which a quick tire balance took care of.

BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A's are great. 285/65R18's It's like a 32/11.50. These all-terrain gets great mileage and will about go anywhere you want to go. They even have a warranty, that if you get stuck they will come and get you. You have to buy the warranty of course. www.4wheelparts.com. check it out.

Hey Ford-man22, the BF Goodrich sound just like what I am looking for. My only question about them is will they fit the stock for wheel? You said they are 11.50" wide. That doesn't sound like it would work on a 7.5" wide wheel.

The tire I really want is the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO's. They don't come in an 18" wheel at all though so that one is a lost cause.

Hey Superdarren. They'll fit just fine. They'll fit about like the one's you have on there now. I'm assuming you have the 275/65R18's on there . They will look exactly like what you have. The 285 is 11.2" and the overall diameter is 32.6". The 275 is 10.8" and the overall diameter is 32.1". So your only looking at a small difference in size. In fact you might not even be able to see any differance at all. I'm saving for some of these tires myself. Post pics if you get them. I want to see them! hopes this helps. Good luck!

Good luck finding the BF All-terrain in 285 65 18's, they have been on national backorder for months now. I tried to get them and waited a month after ordering them and just gave up. I ordered Centerline Crossfire 20's with Nitto tires. Should be on the truck Friday, I can't wait!

OH, FYI- If you can't order them, try calling all your local tire stores and see if someone has them on the shelves. I tried this in my area with no luck, but you never know.

Thanks for the info Ford-man22. The BF's seem to be the best tire I can get that will fit my wheels. I just hope I have better luck acquiring them than 98Cobra.

98Cobra, the Nittos were actually my first choice before the Bridgestone's but they also do not make a tire that fits the stock Ford 18" wheel. At least not in the grappler model.

I got 35x12.5-18 BFG Mud-terrain tires on the stock 18x7,5 rims. They work fine. You need a leveling kit so they will fit up front. I got the Daystar 2 1/2" kit.
