Just purchased an '05 Escape and so far so good. However, i am curious to know if the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel should illuminate when i turn the lights on. Mine don't and thought this a bit strange. Any help?....Thanks

 

mine do not.
only the icon on the dash lights up when engaged.
all the buttons on the excursion wheel light up.
probably too expensive to add on the escape.
no auto a/c offered either.

still a neat truck.

Once you get used to it, you don't really need to look at your buttons. You should be glad these buttons are not all flat. There are some other cars with really bad buttons layout. Some with too many buttons such as volume control.

 

My F150 had them but not the Escape. After driving a few thousand miles I've never needed them illuminated. I guess the reason why they have different ridges/bumps on each control. You know by touch.

 

They do not light up, as they did on my 02 & 03 Rangers.
