Drive, Drive, Drive it before you buy it!!

Bad news
04 Lariat X-cab, 3K miles, 5.4 with 373 LS. It's a jack rabbit, (it jumps and vibrates all over the road) been at the dealer scense Nov 29 looking for a cure! Dealer says "No hope of ever finding the problem!!"

Now the good news
Dealer (yes I said Dealer, they are skipping the D S B and the lemmon law paperwork) is buying back the truck. My salesman called me and said to come on down and pick out any truck on the lot and drive it as long as I wanted, before signing any paper work! What a great guy!
So this past Sunday we drove 4 Lariats (all crew cabs) and 1 King ranch, real smooth no vibe's (I really wanted this one, but it did not have the tow package)
Three of the Lariat's had the vib's, one was worse than my 04, and one was a real dog, (it felt like it had the V/6 engine)
The fifth truck was an 05 Lariat screw, 5.4, 3.55 LS with about 364 miles on the clock when I took it. This truck is the best! No Vibe's And I really like this new color!
We are taking a 700 mile trip this weekend, and I will post my results (if we are going to keep this truck) when we return.

Sounds like a swell dealer but I would also be careful they do not hose you on the new truck. If they want to take the deal you negotiated before on the vibed truck and apply it to a new one just be careful and compare apples to apples. They may try to leverage their "generosity" from giving you full cash back to either up the price of the new one or be stingy with their negotiating on the 2nd rig. Afterall, you are just trading in one truck for another just like I could go down and do it at my dealer as well.

Also, what new color are you talking about???

'04 XLT 5.4L 6.5' 4WD tow pkg. 5100 miles with no vibes. Well, that's not true... I get GOOD vibes every time I drive it because I'm not stuck in my '97 Honda Accord! Whoo hooo! Once a truckman, always a truckman. I'm sure any vehicle will have its share of "nuances" (using Kerry's term) and only those affected will vocalize their collective displeasure (understandably so).

So, in short, NO VIBRATION PROBLEM.

Zip on the vibes. 6,000 miles RC 6 1/2.

Bounces a bit when I am towing my 5th wheel on rough roads.

Nearing 9000 miles and no vibrations. Did have the rearend replaced due to clutch pak problems, but it's been great ever since. My wife didn't even know I was doing 80 mph the other day because it was so smooth and quiet (she would have killed me if she noticed).

8500 miles on my STX reg cab, 4.6 v8. Absolutely no vibrations. Love my F150. I agree about the quietness and smoothness. I find myself driving faster than I need to, and not knowing it.

I looked on the f150 form and there is 28% of the trucks with vibs. I have a 04 super crew and have the vibration taken care of by replacing the tires. They also relpaced the drive shaft. The vib is gone unless I tow so they have agreed to take the truck back. Ordered a new f250 4x4 super cab this time. Hope for the best.It seems the super crew has the majority of the vibs
