Bought my 04 F-150 Monday

Got a few guestions for the veterans. I wanted to get a spray on bed liner, but the dealer told me it would void the paint warranty. Should I still get one or go with the drop in liner? I am always interested in getting better gas milage. It doesn't matter if i'm driving a 4 cylinder or my new 300 hp V8, I like to look for better ways to improve mpg. I had an air intake and exhaust on my Dakota, but it didnt' improve mpg. Any recomendations?

Welcome to FTE stretch 5.0. The paint warranty thing is a first for me. If you want a spray in, go for it. I dont see how they could void a paint warranty, since the product does not effect any of the paint outside of the bed. For mileage, I can suggest a Superchips tuner (makes driving the truck much more fun , plus I gained 1 mpg on mine). I just installed a tonneau cover last week, and I hope to gain another mpg or so with that. Do not pay too much attention to your gas mileage at the beginning. These motors are quite tight from the factory, so the figures will get better. I think I got 12mpg on my first tank, then jumped to 15 on the rest.

Welcome to FTE stretch. Congrats on your new truck. About the spray in bed liner, It doesnt void the warranty. I'm leasing my truck and asked my dealer about putting a spray in bedliner on it and he said ford actually likes that as it raises the value of the truck and he recommended the spray on over fords drop in.

Welcome stretch. I will 3rd the spray in liner. Don't think you could give me a drop in liner. They rattle, wear on the paint, let stuff slide around, etc. Your particular dealer can say that they will void the paint warranty, but they can't. Well they can on the inside of the bed, but not the rest of the truck. If they say they are, Find another dealer.

As for the fuel mileage, I did a Banks cat-back on mine, If anything I lost 1mpg. But only because now I have my foot in it a little more to hear the exhaust....lol. I been contimplating an intake and a tuner.
