e4od interchange

i have a 1992 ford e250 van with 351w and an e4od trans. the engine quit so i bought a vary low miles 1996 engine that has a roller cam and is mass air.
i`am changing the computer, wiring, all emissions, front acc drive system, exaust system, and adding factory air from the 1996 e250 and putting it all in the 92. the problem i know i`am going to have is the older e4od (92) i understand is not compatable with the 96 electronics because of the wiring and solenoid pack that is in the trans. can i put a 1996 solenoid pack in a 92 trans? i`am not to worried about the wire connector i can go to the ford dealer and get a harness repair kit that will give me the correct connector and can wire it in. i have 3 of the older e4od trannies and they are all in real good shape (under 100,000 miles) none have pulled trailers yet and all shift good. i have 4 1992 e250 vans 351w e4od`s i have access to all the parts from a 96 to make everything correct accept the trans. and a running driving 96 van that i can look at to make sure i get everything in its correct location so it will be just like ford built it. once i get it completed (running and driving correctley) it will get performance mods. everything that can be done to it. it will get a bigger cam, valve springs, roller rockers, if i can fit it all under the upper intake. cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, throttlebody mods, o2 sims, adjustable fuel pressure reg, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, gear drive timing set,4:10 ratio axel full floating, performance ignition system, engine oil prelube system, heavy duty oil pump and drive shaft, true duel exaust, equal length long tube headers, duel engine oil filters, external trans oil filter, engine and trans oil coolers, all stainless fasteners (every nut and bolt) stainless trans lines with quick disconnect fittings, all synthetic fluid,a monster radiator, 200 amp altenator, i have 95% of the parts sitting in boxes in the garage. the trans is my only problem. the trans i would like to use has all monster duty parts in it (you have no idea what i went through to make it bulletproof) but it is a 92 trans. any help from someone that knows these tranies like they know their old lady would be great. all i want to do for now is get the truck rite the crazy mods come after i know i have a solid foundation to work with the van will be 4x4 when i`am done

i really need help with this i need to know if i can put a 1996 solenoide block from an e4od in a 92-93 e4od will it bolt in what would i have to do to make it work or is this just not at all possible or will a 92-93 e4od run off a 1996 computer if i change the connector and wire it for a 96 i seen somewhere that they operate differently and are not interchangable i have 3 92-93 e4od`s and one is totally bult with all monster duty parts (4r100)
anyone that knows about this would be really be helping me out in my search for the correct parts to make this 92 e250 mass air conversion work so i can get this truck on the road and then start doing my mods to it
