tow package wiring
#2
White is ground
Brown is running lights
Yellow is left turn/ brake
Green is right turn/ brake
These are the universally accepted color codes for trailer wiring. Hope it helps.
I was assuming you had 4 cut wires hanging down. But if you do not have any trailer wiring at all, you need to hit the auto parts store and just buy the $40 adapter. You unplug the wiring harness connection near the left taillight and plug each end into the trailer light adapter. The Ranger has a 5 wire system (the turn signal is a different wire than the brake light) so you need the adapter to make the trailer lights work correctly without shorting out your truck wiring.
