AutoXray EZ Link

AutoXray EZ Link
I've posted many negative comments in the past about AutoXray's EZ Link.
I had been in contact with their technical staff for some time but my questions went beyond them.
Today I received a call from one technical staff member who turned the call over to a engineer. Talked about 30 minutes, some of which was a bit over my head too!
The problems I've had using a EZ Link on a 97 Ford Ranger 4.0L engine are indeed with the PCM of that year and 96 also. No scan tool will read certain PIDs correctly, not even the ones used at a dealership. They have contacted Ford about this and they refuse to look at the problem!
I was also given some undocumented features of the EZ Link.
This engineer actually read all my email to them which had to take some time and addressed anything I asked about.
I was also told whom they are working with as a third party which was an impressive list including my own employer(Visteon, formerly a division of Ford).
So, I retract any negative statements that I've made about the EZ Link which blames AutoXray for problems with 96/97 Ford Ranger!

AutoXray EZ Link
Ken:
I think that I would knowing what I know now!
There shouldn't be any problems with a 99. I used it on a 99 Ford Escort and the only thing that I seen wrong was that the PC Link software uploaded data had one PID(Air Flow Rate) as zero whereas in the scanner it showed a value and also in other files which are included with the upload.
The PC Link is nice because you can study them later and create a good baseline for later. You can also update the scanner firmware that way too. Actually, AutoXray's site shows the latest version as v1.44 but along the way, they had me update it and it was v2.0, maybe a beta.
I keep it in my glovebox with the OBD-II and Ford OBD-I cords. The Pro Pack gets you all the cords.
One thing that the guy mentioned was the all Chrysler products for the last ten years will show that you have four wheel drive when scaned! How dumb...
