Buying 94!!??

I'm looking at a 94.5 psd f-250 5spd 4x4 , 131K He is asking 13,000 But if I can get it for 10K I was planing on buying it after I test the coolant. I was wondering if there and any problems I should know about with the early psds,
I would greatly apricaate any help and advice. J

I've got one like that (F-350) and no major issues with first year engine other than injector o-rings were not good and if yours are original figure on replacing them. Air box was faulty & recalled early, few other minor items I can't remember right now. Try and get service records and review before you buy, if it was well maintained then great, if not keep looking IMO.

Seems a little high priced to me. Esp. at 13k. I would'nt go any more than 10k I paid 8000 2 years ago for mine but it had 240000 miles. I don't think coolant was that big of an issue with powerstrokes. It was in the idi 7.3 engines. If you need orings they are cheap if ya do the labor yourself and it isnt a tough job. I got 275000 on mine now and except for a clutch and alternator I have'nt had any trouble. The air boxes on all 94 -97 psd were junk and I'd recommend getting a Tymar intake. Filters 100% better and lets your engine suck major air! Like Chaps said, look into its maintiance and if its been good It would be a great truck if ya can get it for a resonable price.

I have a 94.5, F350 Crew, 5-spd with 186K on it. I have had a few minor problems with this vehicle, but overall has been very reliable. So far i have replaced the vacuum compressor, belt tensioner, 2 water pumps, cam. position sensor, glow plugs and a couple relays since I bought it 4 years ago with 128k on it. These are all minor things in my mind. No internal problems with the motor. I am ready for a clutch though. Think I will try the Luk or Valeo setup. Make sure you pull the air tube off where it connects to airbox and check for "dusting" dust past the airbox. That would be a deal breaker for me. If it is clean, get a Tymar setup or similar. Dont forget to check the SCA level too. Good Luck.
