Tires rub!

Well I bolted on my 325/60/18 grappler's with American racing Mohave 18x9.5 wheels They have a 4.5 backspace and -22mm offset....I will have 2.5 leveling kit installed a week from today but I have had to cut the bottom of my plastic wheel lip molding at the very end. They rub only on full wheel lock.
They stick out way too much (2"+) and will require flares.. Any suggestion on the flares? Alway wanted the HOT WHEELS look now I got it!

Are you sure about that offset? Is it 22 positive or negative. The resaon I am asking is that I installed 17" mojaves with a 0 offset and a 4 1/2 backspacing and my tires don't sit out near that much. see the pics in my gallery. Make sure they sold you the rims they said you were getting.

these trucks need a high positive offset to stay inside the fenders

Yes it is -24 not -22......Ar list this wheel as a fit for our trucks but I think they are wrong!
Thanks for your reply.

Hovy: I recommend that type of backspace if you get a lift 6inch and above to prevent hitting the tie rods when installing 35 inch tires. If all you are doing is getting the 2 1/2 inch daystars and want to keep the rims inside, get the 6 inch backspace rims as an example the Centerline Crossfires.

Good choice on the Nitto Grapplers, I love them. I have 325 65 18 on Eagles 178 w/PROCOMP 6 inch lift.

Bushwacker makes a nice fender for the F150. I plan on getting them next.

Will the wheels that I now have not rub with the 2.5 front lift? Thanks. Getting to kind of like the look of the wheels sticking out! One more question: They aren't balanced to well. Will road force balancing help?

HOVY:

I have the Nitto 325/60/18s also with the 2.5" daystar and still have a tiny rub when cranked to the left. I'll be trimming that molding tomorrow.

What did you use to cut the molding and how much did you cut off?

Thanks!

Beautiful truck man! That is the EXACT look that I'm going after. Very impressive.

What was the total cost of your setup if you don't mind me asking?

looking good!

Thanks for the replies! It is just plastic, remove the bottom fastener and cut with a pair of snips. Make sure you leave it in a way that you can put back the fastner.... Mine needs a major removal of inner fender and it's braces.....I love the "look" but need to get rims as suggested......I could just raise it 6"! LOL I am 280# and I would need an elevator.. btw 18" mojaves only come with a 4.5 back space and a -24mm offset.

admorris, I don't mind telling you but it may not help because I bought the wheels and tires wholesale. I paid just over 1,000 for all of it. The lift was bought from www.rockymountainsusp.com. it was only 133.00. They have lifts from several different co. and they all seemed very reasonable to me.
Sorry if this didn't help much.
