wondering 99 ford 4x4
My 99 Ranger 4x4 wonderes all over the road. when the slightest cross wind is blowing it is verry hard to handle. the tires on this Ranger are 265-75r15. is this to big? would this make the truck do this? or what else could this be causing this? any info please!
thanks ric

I have a 2002 and my tires are bigger so I would say no. It sorta sounds like your front end has some play in it. Maybe it was never greased or something. My dads truck came from the factory with no grease on the front end. At 4000 miles his whole front end wore out.
Fackin D*dge POS!!!
After they replaced the whole front end (1200bucks)
it worked great.
It could be alignment too if your alignment is off i believe tow out or whatever so that the front part of the wheel is pointing out and the back is in it will cause the tires to wonder alot in winds.
if they are too far in it will have the opposite effect.
imagine the / and \ are front tires
\ / Toe out (wonders around road)
/ \ Toe in (More steering needed to turn)
MY ADVICE.
Start with an alignment.
Make sure you take it to a quality alignment shop not joe's alignment and plumbing.
And make sure they give you an alignment paper ( before and after printout).
