smoking

I have a 1999 f350 with the 7.3. The truck runs perfect at times, but at other times it will begin to idle rough and smoke (blue smoke). It is only an issue when at idle, I have not noticed any smoke while driving. There is also an increase in oil consumption. Could this be caused by bad o-rings on the injectors? If I sit with the truck idling, it may run fine for a few minutes and then start smoking and missing and then start running good again after a few more minutes.

Please Help,
Charlie

Intermittent sensor problem or something of the sort is the only thing that pops to mind for me.
