oil pump on 1984 ford f150 302
#3
Then once that is done scrap all the old oil pan gasket off before you do anything else, then from there unbolt the 2 bolts that hold it in, pukk the oil pump drive shaft out and clean it, then once off put it in a vice and unscrew the pickup off. Then screw the pickup into the new pump, then reinstall the drive shaft into the distbutor, then place the oil over the shaft then align it back up with the bolt holes andd bolt it back down. After that reinstall the oil pan with a new gasket. A few notes, replace the oil pump with a high volume one as it is cheap insurance, and also the one piece pan gaskets are very easy to install, also if the motor is pulled entirely and put on an engine stand this job can be done very very quickly.
