Question Interior lights question

Is it just me, or has any one else noticed that at night, even when you have the doors open, once you start the truck, the interior lights turn off? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the interior lights go off after all the doors are shut? It really irritates my wife when I crank the truck while she’s helping our little one in the back seat, and the lights cut off.

Any thoughts?

I thought when you close the doors there is a delay in the lights going off? I guess the solution would be to wait until she's finished to crank it up. My Ranger is the same way. The lights stay on for a few seconds if I don't crank it, but as soon as you crank it they go off, I guess it assumes you are ready to go by cranking it...

Just turn the lights on until she is done.... The light dimmer for the interior lights does this. Or just wait to crank up like volley said

I like that they shut off when I crank it and am ready to go but I am the only one usually in the truck. As said before just turn the interior switch to on or use the push button lights in the overhead console.
