Question Explorer Lower Ball Joint replacement.

Being a relatively low skilled wrench, I would appreciate any help. I need to replace lower ball joints on a 2000 4x4 Explorer. Are any special tools required to perform this work, which includes removal and replacement of the lower control arm and torsion bar. I have to do this in my garage and am a little leary of the torsion bar issue. Any suggestions about procedure? Thanks.

it is possible to do it without completely removing the lower control arm but you do need a ball joint press also is it 2wd or 4wd
