Replacement door panels

I'm looking to replace the cracked door panels on my 1979 F-150

has anyone bought from these folks? is there a better deal anywhere (this seems like a pretty good deal) Do the sponsors offer door panels? I couldn't find any.

thanks

Here are several options I've come across. You can get replacement panels from most of the sponsors, such as JC Whitney, AutoKrafters, and the forementioned Bronco Graveyard. Also LMC & NPD, but not sure I'm supposed to mention them.

Most carry 2 styles. The first is the one with the one-piece with a hard plastic molded-in arm rest, the second is the original factory style with a separate padded arm rest. Also, some have the "hidden" attachment points and use the plastic push-in clips like factory original, while some cheaper ones just attach with screws thru from the front. You can pretty much tell which cost more, which cost less.

Also don't overlook ebay. Almost always there are original take-off panels offered, not always the color or or style you might need, but keep watching! Occasionally you may even come across NOS panels - not cheap, but again depends on your budget. I picked up a set of blue & white Lariat panels for my '79 a while back - maybe someday I'll even get them put on!

Good luck!

I bought a set off Ebay that were listed as being black and no cracks. I even asked if they had ever been painted and if all mounting tabs were intact. Turned out to be maroon under the paint that was removed when cleaning a crack next to a busted mounting tab. But hey I paid $75 and they don't look bad at all. But I could have waited for another blue moon come along and picked up some nice ones from Dennis Carpenter. Oh well, alittle elbow grease goes along way.

P.S. I have also purchased a dash pad that was used and is perfect off of Ebay.

I Bought a set from Coverlay Manufacturing. They have hidden mounting clips that are plastic, so you can remove panels easier with out breaking them. They also have padded arm rest. The color was close but not perfect. For the price I thought they were the best deal and they have money back guaranty. Picture in my gallery. I also got the dash cover they sell. It is best and cheapest way to cover cracked dash pad. I only got that for temporary use as I plan on replacing with a complete pad.

Hey this subject is why I joined this forum a year and half ago!

I found the best price for door panels through DriverFX.com. DriverFX is an association of retailers of sorts. It turns out a local car stereo place, Dr Dashboard, is an affiliate. The best price I found was $160--about $40 cheaper than anywhere else at the time-- and free shipping. The car stereo place had them listed at a higher price but honored the DriverFx price. I was able to pay cash for them at the store. These are the Coverlays with padded arm rests.

This worked out pretty well. I got a good price on a quality product and the local store, which I would have never went in otherwise, got me in the door.

There might be an DriverFX affiliate near you. And of course don't forget the sponsors here.
