Matts72, I hope that you're looking at the green truck in the classifieds and not my red truck (in my gallery) that I've worked so dillegently at making right! I wouldn't let my red one go for all the money in the world (well maybe....). I'm just starting to get everything to work the way I want it!
However, I think that for $1100 the green one is a screaming deal. I just don't have the room to store it and could use the cash. Look foward to hearing from you.

Hi everyone, haven't posted in quite awhile as I've changed locations from Billings to Kalispell since June.Truck is running even better then it did since Billings, thanks matt for the edelbrock man and carb, truck made the trip flawlessly and my highway mileage is great for the old hog almost 14 mpg,but the in town sucks at 5 mpg.Might need some tuning on the carb. Just bought a get around town car so can park the 79 and start my rebuild.

Good to hear you are doing well John... old ford trucks are bulletproof... my dad once drove 60 miles with a hole in the oil pan, tore the motor apart and replaced the bearings, and that was all it needed...
Today I got off my butt, and for the first time in three years I have locking doors, heat, and audio in the truck... pretty crazy, I know...
Edelbrock carbs can be tricky to tune at first, but after initial adjustment you shouldn't have to worry about it ever again... good luck with your new ventures...

Sorry,I've been off the Ford Forum for awhile now.I actually did a real stupid thing and sold my truck in order to get my Subaru rebuilt, not so much stupid as the Subaru is a great car with 190000 miles and sure beat the hell out of 5 mpg withthe truck, but I'm pretty good friends with the mechanic who I traded with and can probably get my old truck back for what I traded in kind.Just did what I had to do at the time and hopefully can remedy it fairly cheap. i still peruse the topics but haven't joined in for awhile, will be doing better from now on. It's ok John and welcome to the Kalispell area. I'm only about a year late in saying that but better late than never. We all seem to be pretty busy, so we just take it a day at a time here...and in my case, we take it whenever I happen to get bored with about ten other forums that occupy my time when I'm not laying in bed reading.
