Larger factory alternator
What is the factory amp rating for the alternator on a 2000 Ranger with the 3.0 V6? Also, what other V6's came with larger output alternators that could bolt in as a direct swap?
I am on battery #3 in a year with my stereo system, and I am looking for a cheaper alternative than a $500 Stinger 200 amp.

I looked your truck up, and they list a 95 amp alternator. Do you have room for another battery? If you do, you could consider buying a deep cycle battery and a isolator. Then the stereo would use the deep cycle battery only, not using the truck's original battery, but the isolator would let the truck's alt charge the deep cycle battery with the original battery. You could realize several benefits by adding another battery.
1. You could remote mount the battery close to your amps. This would reduce voltage drop, and require shorter lengths of expensive heavy wire.
2. The battery being close to the amps would give better punch to the woofers. No stiffener capacitors needed.
3. The deep cycle battery is made to be run completely down, and then recharged. It will hold up to this abuse where your regular automotive battery will not.
4. When the deep cycle gets low, you can still start the truck since the sound system is not drawing current from the truck's regular battery.
