column to floor shift conversion?

i tried a search on this but didn't quite find what i was looking for. has anyone ever swapped there 3 spd column shifter for a 3 spd floor shifter keeping the stock tranny?

was thinking of doing this to my 54. if it's possible. thanks for any ideas.

I have looked at the possibility of puttng an old Hurst shifter in my '54. After removing the floorpan and having clear access to almost everything, I found that there is a structural element that interferes with a simple installation. This is not to say that it cant be done... it just didn't seem to be worth the struggle. best. himmelberg

thanks himmelberg. i think i'll hold off until i do an engine/tranny swap.
