The closest thing I've found comparable to the old style Doritos are made By.... http://www.tomsfoods.com/ They make alot of stuff.
99 cents a bag.....not $2.29 like the Doritos around here.
But I'm still all about the Original Fritos.
Nacho Cheese Doritos, dipped in cottage cheese...Mmm, mmm good. Yeah, sounds weird, but somehow it works. I can't even remember how I found that combination. Another strange combo that I like is for breakfast, a big waffle with two eggs fried over easy right on top, then drenched with maple syrup. The syrup combines with the runny egg yolks, and BAM! It's to die for! I don't have it very often, fortunately for my arteries. Used to make people sick watching me eat it! Back on topic, I can't believe all the different flavers of Doritos they have now. I tried those green Guacamole-flavored ones, didn't even finish the bag. We've got a little Farmer's Market here on Sat. mornings, there's some folks there who sell a fantastic home-made salsa. Plain (not nesessarily Doritos) tortilla chips dipped in that salsa are fantastic! -TD
(Mmmm....Moon pies....!)
Here in Canada we get Zesty cheese Doritios. IMO They are 10 times better than the nacho cheese ones. I don't know why they dont sell them in the U.S. but i never seen them "down there".
If I want them, I buy the off brands, they taste like the original ones used to.
I tried some Dill Pickle chips the other day, an off brand, not the Lays.
Holy DILL!! This was one of the$.99 bags, and I couldn't finish them, they were about to implode my skull.
I always like sour cream and onion pringles myself, now i'm all about the original ones, And regular doritos, which are still avalible at my local store
