Microtuner installed....do I need intake?
This site is awsome. I have decided to go with the microtuner for my 04 FX4. Is it going to be worth the money to install a cold air intake as well? I had the intake on my 03 FX4 but did not have the chip. I noticed the truck was a bit more responsive and got a little better gas mileage. What do you guys think?
Also, does anyone know why Ford did away with the Rancho shocks on the 04 fx4's? I had them come stock on my 03 and the rear end was much stiffer than this 04. Is Ford still putting them on and I just got screwed or what?

in my experience a cold air intake works well in conjunction with a chip, tuner, etc. will be getting the tuner for mine along with a cold air intake as soon as i have the cash saved. dont have any info on the rancho shocks, but when i bought my 04 fx4 none of the ones i looked at had rancho's.

I'm looking to either replace my air filter or install a cold air intake but I'm having a tough time trying to figure out if it's worth the money or not. What are the real work performance differences that I'd expect to see/experience with the air intake versus a simple filter switch.
It's also my understanding that the air intake will make the truck louder at higher RPM's...how much? I like the quieter ride.
