I get sort of a grunge sound when I hit my brakes. The brakes work good. If I hit the brakes hard I hear no noise. But if I lightly push on the brakes then this sound appears. The noise seems to emanate from the front brakes.

 

well i had that happen on my 1994 Ford Ranger, exact same thing. that just meant i had to go to my local brake dealer and spend about $300 on new rotors and possibly break pads. new brakes man suckthat means u have gouges (sp?) from your break pads on ur rotor
