N series?

Hi Michelle.
Thanks for having such a great site with all the related information about FORD N-SERIES and H-SERIES TRUCKS. Thanks for all your dedication. I am on the side of those who did not know what an N-SERIES FORD is. Now my interest is drawn into this classic and rare FORD TRUCKS.
Is it right to categorize the FORD N-SERIES as a CABOVER TRUCK????
I took the time to create a PICTURE GALLERY or ALBUM about CLASSIC FORD CABOVER TRUCKS on my FACEBOOK, among other CLASSIC FORD TRUCKS ALBUMS.
I am from PUERTO RICO and here there is no interest to preserve CLASSIC TRUCKS. On my way in a few days to a place were there is to say I will find 3 FORD N-SERIES TRUCKS, one of them a TANDEM AXLE one with a DIESEL ENGINE. Hope to get that one for free if OWNER wants to SCRAP it.
Got a lot to learn about CLASSIC TRUCKS , but I think I am passionate about it and I want others (specially my peers) to learn about the history of these forgotten trucks.
THANKS.

I'll know a little bit more in the morning. Not sure exactly what trans he originally ID'ed, but he said that it was pretty rare to have it mated to a gas engine.
The truck has a decent body, no bed, no fifth wheel, and there is an axle (disc brakes) sitting on the frame rails. Not sure if it goes with this truck or an old Diamond Rio sitting out in the field.
While the owner tracks down his paperwork, I'm going to attempt to get it running.
Should be interesting.

Michelle.........Funny how you ask that. I just bought an N Series sales brochure off of Ebay. Got it this week.
Go to ebay and type in N Series, and more sales brochures may be up for bid. This will show you what they look like. My answer is, they were a cross between a short convential nose and a cabover. Ford's cabover was the C Series and their Over the road truck was the H Series, somewhat similar to the C series.
Growing up in Ft. Wayne, Indiana a local dump trucking outfit had one and they nicknamed it "Old Smokey".

I grew up in Fort Wayne too. We lived three blocks from the GE plant, and I saw on a daily basis those N series, H Series and the Larger F Series Ford Trucks all over the place. We lived there from 1965 to 1975.

Hi very interesting info on the N and H but many more big ford trucks are the
everlasting "C" series (just ask almost any fire department_)
I believe the C was produced almost 40 years 57 -97 any one else to verify or dispute this?
Currently I drive a 1993 Aeromax LTLA9000 with Cummins N14 (Currently showing 177900 on the second time around) but I got started in trucking with a 1977 C originally 534 Gas but converted to 3208 Cat.
Does anyone know of a site featuring either of these?

When I first started driving for a living in 1978 we no longer had any N series but a number of the 534s in our F and LN series. Since we were somewhat of a ragtag outfit, we didn't have diesels until some years later. The 534s did get the job done though we didn't cover more than a 50 mile radius from town (this was pre-deregulation when a company had to own the rights to go to certain destinations) The 534s it seemed ran forever but only got about 4 miles to the gallon.
