1992 4.0 Ranger died...need help
I posted in the Performance, Engines and Troubleshooting forum what my truck did when it died. It looks like there may be more traffic in this forum. I thought I would put up a link to my post. Anyone want to take a look at it?

Some vehicles have a pressure sensor in the P/S line; does yours? Checking for spark/fuel are also a natural part of the diagnosis. The MAF sensor would trip a fault code in the computer, but for now I'd hold on pursuing that one. I suspect Dave is thinking that P/S fluid was drawn in the air stream and contaminated it. Look at your air filter for evidence of oil as this will give you a heads up as to whether or not fluid was drawn in and possibly contaminated the MAF.

I haven't had a chance to look at the truck at all. I'm just looking for some leads before I get started. I thought about spraying "ether" in the throttle body to see if it would try and start. If it tried to start then, maybe its not getting fuel. How else could I check fuel (other than listening for the fuel pump to switch on)?
THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!!

Update On The Ranger
OK guys, it looks like a lack of fuel is whats keeping my Ranger off the road. I listened for the fuel pump when I switched the key on. I heard a relay under the hood click but I didn't hear the fuel pump "hum". I sprayed some "ether" into the throttle body and it attempted to start. I then pulled the codes from the CPU and I'm getting a 542 (Fuel Pump Circuit Open - PCM To Motor Ground). Any ideas as to what to look for? I know what the acronym PCM means but I don't know where it is or which ground to look for. Could the p/s fluid screwed something up that is related to this?
Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it!!!!

Well, I decided I would check the fuel shutoff switch just for the heck of it. Guess what, it was tripped! I clicked the button and it started right up.
I still haven't found an explanation to the p/s fluid being everywhere or why both of these problems happened at the EXACT same time. Thanks for the help!
