Question '97 Ranger A/T Shift Lever Replacement

Hello, I'm a newbie at car repair in general, so this may sound like a dumb question...

How do I go about replacing the gearshift lever in my '97 Ranger? I had purchased it with the end of the lever (including the overdrive switch) chewed off by the previous owner's dog.

Also, where can I find a replacement lever? I haven't found one online as of yet. Cost estimates are appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Remove the ignition switch.
Remove the upper steering column shroud and rubber shift lever cover.
Disconnect the shift control selector lever harness connector.
Remove and discard the gearshift lever pin.
Remove the gearshift lever.
Use a NEW gearshift lever pin when putting it back together.

Try a "pull it yourself" yard, If you order it from a dealer you might get it all together or you MAY have to order each peace..don't know about that or price. You might also try online ford parts dealers.
