Roll top bed covers

Has anyone purchased a roll top bed cover they are happy with? I was looking at pace edward's jack rabbit series. Are any of them waterproof?

I have the Access cover - not waterproof but it does keep most water off in light rain.

It flaps a bit at high speeds, but I minimized by adjusting the tension. Overall I like it. Works well with my overhead rack.

I put a tonneau master roll up on mine and it looks and works great. I have not noticed any leaks yet. Had it for about a month or so. Very low profile and built solid.

I have a Peragon, that is very water tight, but does give up about 6" of room in the front of the bed. I use my truck for work, and it was the only cover I could find to work with my Trac Rac ladder rack.

Happy with my access cover

I installed an Access cover on mine. It lets a little moisture through, in the car wash. But, other than that, it does a pretty good job. I haven't had much flap in mine. I've got the tension cranked up a little, and I've noticed that it moves A LOT less than many of the soft covers I've seen on the road. The cross supports make a big difference, without them, the cover won't even look good when the truck isn't moving. Flapping... sagging...

I was a little disappointed that the few inches of bed space taken by the cover, made it impossible for me to close the tailgate with a four wheeler onboard... but, until someone creates a quick release model, I'll break out the straps.

I had a Truxedo on my 03.. I thought it was a nice unit. I liked the latching unit, it was aluminum. Now I am looking for a cover for my 04 screw. Not sure about the clearance with the bed extender. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I purchased a Paced Edwards Jack Rabbit tonneau cover about 4 months ago when I got my XLT, SCAB. It's waterproof, except for a tiny wet spot in the very back corners after a long rainstorm. Great product!

extang black max

I put an Extang Black Max on my XLT, and I'm happy with it.

Looks good, and seems to be water proof so far.

Pace Edwards

I bought a Pace Edwards Roll top a while back, six years ago to be exact. Initially, the roll top works pretty well except it takes up so much room at the front of the bed. However, as the years rolled on the cover wore down... badly. I had the aluminum bars with vinyl top glued on it. The glue was very weak and the vinyl peeled off about four years in. This caused the aluminum bars to dislodge. I called Pace Edwards and they said it was a defect in their original product and the problem was fixed now. However, as far as my roll top was concerned, it was Tough S*** for me. On top of that, the railings collected dirt all the time. I continued to wash them out and lubricate them but it eventually got to be a hassle. To make a long story short, I threw away my rolltop after six years, will never buy a Pace Edwards product again, and now have to spend another $200-$300 on a new tonneau.

I've got a Tonneau Master vinyl rollup and love it. Easy to install, easy to use. No rattles, or any problems. Use the supplied puddy to seal two small voids at each front corner, and no leaks. Also has an adjustable latch system that is easy to use. I'd buy another any time.
