Question '92 F150 Bench Seat Question

My '92 F150 XLT supercab has a 40/60 bench front seat. There is a lever on the side of the driver and passenger seats that, when lifted, enables you to fold the seatback forward.
Unfortunately, the wire that releases the locking mechanism has broken. I can no longer use the lever to fold either the driver or passenger side of the seatback forward.
Has anyone repaired or replaced these mechanisms? I would appreciate any guidance/suggestions on what is necessary to fix this problem.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem w/ my 96 F-150. I've got it rigged in a way that the wire is twisted upon itself. However I feel that this is one of Ford's poor designs for moving a seat forward.

Right now I have a piece of wire hanging down on either end of the bench; to move the seatback forward I must wrap the wire around my hand and pull down/forward. This is not my idea of fun.
