EGT wise - in stock configration are you seeing numbers that are lower or higher then stock. - I've been hearing rumors that the predators EGTs may be lower then stock unless your into the trottle of course. I personally would like to avoid adding guages, exaust as it just tells Ford that your into modding your truck and likely running a chip.
Anyway, I'm not into racing, hotroding, etc. What I'm looking for a reliablity, performance and fuel economy. If the progammer can help in that regard (enough to more then pay for itself) and if it can provide for added features like the diagnotics, etc then great.
Most of the time my truck is a daily driver unladden 350 CC SB. It tows on a semi-regular basis a three horse trailer weighing around 8,000 when full which it rarely is..... One of these days I 'might' get a bigger trailer but that will be awhile.

lie-o-meter.......LOL
I don't know why those things change so much, but I don't trust them.
I've been seeing lower EGTs than stock with the exception of very high throttle and very high load (and held near redline for a period of time) with the 150 HP performance program only......
Even in this case EGT's are more than acceptable.
Customer feedback has yielded gains between 2-4 MPG on average.
It really depends based on MANY factors:
Load, weight, driving style, fuel quality, which Ford file you had in the first place, etc....
I've seen stock powerstrokes get 19 MPG and I've seen them get 12........
The tuner will give you a nice jump in power, three distinctly different programs so you can choose what you want as your needs change, and will give you better drivability, more fun and usually an increase in fuel economy.
If you drag race at every stop light, I guarantee you won't see any economy gains. If you drive normally, the characteristics of boost and load at part throttle give increased mileage.

All you need to do is plug the tuner in and set it back to stock by following the menu.
Lets say you were smoking a cigar, dropped it, caught the carpet on file and burned up all of your On Board Diagnostics wiring. You could still physically pull the PCM (provided THAT didn't catch on fire =o) and we could still set it back to stock before you go to the dealer.

I had the superchips tuner on my 7.3 and it worked very well. I was completely satisfied with the product and support. I would recommend it highly. I am planning on buying one for my 6.0.

The main reason our products work so well is that we make sure we spend whatever amount of time is necessary for R&D. Even on the 7.3.....I've recently found some ways to improve the tuning and I will be implementing this soon. As far as I'm concerned, no matter how good a tune is...there is no such thing as a tune that can't be improved upon.
On the 6.0, the gains are simply awesome with BETTER than OE drivability.

the gains that you can get from the Diablo and I presume the Superchips FAR outweigh the losses...
The Diablo with +100HP is crazy fast in this heavy a vehicle...
less than two second 60 foot on street tires is GODD, and if in a 8K lb truck it's GREAT!
I can only salivate over what +150HP would do ?!?!
let's see, that's 33% MORE than the Diablo ?
220 ftlb of torque is not a LOT more than Diablo's claim of around 200 though...
I would think @ 150 you'd be higher ?
but no matter, come on Diablo, step up to the plate and raise the bar again :-)

Yes, it is at the tire
Remember, those numbers are conservative, especially the torque numbers.
There are a lot of "off peak" torque gains above 225 ft lbs and there are off peak HP gains above 150. You really gotta drive a tuned on to believe it.
Take your truck to the dragstrip, load the Predator.
Uninstall it.
Load the Superchips.
Compare ET's.
I haven't personally done this yet....I encourage anyone to do so.
Maybe Motorhaven can include this in their head to head comparison?
