I'm a daddy!
My son was born 6-11-04 at 11:30pm
6 lbs 7 oz... 20 inches long
G/f was in labor 16 hrs then they did a C-section
Cord was around neck but not snug, but he had fluid in his lungs
Had to be taken on the Angel One helicopter to Arkansas Childrens Hospital
Doing great now.... Was on 100% oxygen, now he has no oxygen on him, no tubes but 1 iv and he is eating great. He loves his daddy
We named him Austin Lane.
He will get to come home this weekend
I must go now tho, as im on the way back to the hospital to visit the little fellar

Congrats man... go enjoy your kid... FTE addicts...lol
Sorry to here about the problems...
I think there's too much intervention now days, since when did pregnancy become a medical condition anyway? Our first was a tough labor, at a hospital, what a mess... but the second was a breeze, we used a mid-wife, no drugs, no hospital... kid was out after a couple hours pushing...9lbs 12 oz's that was around 8 pm, we were home by 11:30 and got big macs on the way. The last one wasn't quite that easy, but much easier than the first. I hate those hospital horror stories like that, makes me feel so bad for the moms having to endure all that and "surgery" to just have a baby.
Leave the moms alone and let nature do it's work, not the pittosin...bah Just my rant.
Andy, if your wife is going to nurse drop me a line, we lived in Ft. Smith for a while but I worked in Conway and my wife knows some ladies around there that can help her out if she needs it. Good Luck!!!

Congratulations! We just had our second boy on April 6.
Our first had the cord wrapped TIGHT around his neck, to the point that it pinched off blood, so he came out a little sluggish, didn't pink up very well. He spent 2 nights in NICU, on an IV, then came home on day 3. Heathen #2 was no problem, even though he was 1 1/2 times the size of his older brother at birth. 6lbs8oz <-> 9lbs2oz.
Glad to hear momma, daddy and the new boy are all doing well now though.

Congratulations, our youngest was thought to have had the same problem but when they rushed the birth they found out she had the cord in her hand and was squeezing it. When she would squeeze the monitor would show a decrease in her heart beat and when she would let go it came back up. Hope all goes well, there is nothing that matches the feeling the first time you see them and get to hold them.

Congratulations!! I still remember that feeling when my boys were born. Love him, enjoy every minute of him. They grow up too fast. Mine are 20 and 22 years old. Just remember, the hospital will not give you an instruction manual with him. You get to figure out fatherhood on your own. It’s worth it all. Congratulations again.

Congrats on the young feller! Glad to hear everything is going better! Had my first angel on Labor Day last year, and I'll tell you what there is nothing like the grin she gives me standing on my lap holding on to the steering wheel in my '70! You thought you loved stuff before, now you'll know the true meaning of the word. One question though, have you got him a tool set started yet, like everyone is saying the grow up pretty quick!! Congrats again and good luck!
