I'm trying to decide what kind of diesel to put into my 1973 international Harvester Pickup. I decided on the power stroke to stay with the international name but need some info about the specs. What HP rating does the 6.9 have and Ft-Lb. torque ratings would also be helpful. Thanks

Hey Luke, I just read your message and I used to work at a International dealer and I'll get your info tomorrow. Have you thought about the IH 7.3??.About the only modification is the glow plug system i.e. wiring the upgraded glow plug relay,the glow plug harness..the glow plugs have a round male end instead of the flat spade end were the harness connects to it. Hey Luke,Sorry I took so long to respond.I got busy and also had to find my service manuals.The 6.9L engine has three different horsepower ratings depending on year and model.They are 130hp@2700RPM,155@3000,165@3000.The 7.3 is 130hp@2700rpm and 155&170@3000rpm.The manual isnt showing any torque specs,but if you have a decent rear gear itll do what you want.If you have found an engine there should be an emissions tag on the LH valve cover with a hole punched in decal to verify what the specs are.Good luck Windsor
