If you were to browse the other forums here, you would discover that they are supposed to be re-done for '05...

No, what you will discover is that there are some typical model year upgrades, but they will not get a makeover in 2005. 2007 is the next reported change

I hope they don't make the bed rails taller like they did on the F150. A lot of people already have clearance problems with fifth wheel trailers.

I don't mind the 150's , I just don't think the whole truck line should look a like.

As far as encouraging words, I was never good at being a cheerleader...sorry

I suppose it all depends on what ones defenition of a makeover is. The 05 Super Duties will have new front bumpers and a new grill design. They have also added a coil spring front suspension and some new options and packages but nothing major.

They also have a frame that is 10 - 17% thicker and are rated to tow much more, not to mention a V-10 with 45 more HP and 3o more ft-lbs of torque than before.

As well as the new 3 valve 5.4 litre V8. The V10 got its extra power from introducing the 3 valve concept as well.

What is the picture from the link above showing on the dash with "aux" buttons and a LCD display with "gain" on it? I think this is the link to the picture.

http://www.wieck.com./public/*2PV_070099

If it is beneficial, I know it fits where the 2004 'hole for my gum in my truck' is, but I wonder if it could be put in a 2004 or earlier?

Thumbs up

Here is what the Gain display is about:

The TowCommand System, which includes the industry’s first factory-installed and warranted electronic trailer brake controller, offers smoother operation and safety features.

This includes a special trailer brake strategy when the truck’s anti-lock braking system detects poor traction. No aftermarket trailer brake controller can do this. The electronic trailer brake controller is integrated into the instrument panel, with graphics that match the rest of the Super Duty interior. It gives audible and visual warnings if trailer wiring becomes disconnected.

The 4 switches are part of the upfitter package. They're just switches made available for additional aftermarket equipment. The LCD display next to it is the optional brake controller. I like that "secondary" glove box underneath. Not available on 6-speeds though.
