Computer Guru's needed please

Ok heres the deal, i bought this "chip" off of ebay and it is just some gay resistor in a tube poured full of clear resin. It is sposed to plug into where the IAT sensor goes, you unplug the Intake Air Temp sensor and plug this "chip" into the plug....its sposed to make more Hp somehow....well this POS made my truck run bad, it idled up to like 1800 RPM when i revved it and took in excess of 10 sec to idle to normal.....i didnt get took for but $20 but i still wanna know how if at all is this sposed to work? does anyone know.....it was vehicle specific (f-150 4.2 V-6, / 4.6, 5.4L V-8) i dont think it worked at all i plugged it in and it made stuff worse, it now seems like it is running bad even though i have removed it and replugged the IAT. Oh yea the MFG. is Della Performance here is the auction so you can see for yourself..

I don't know what to say. I would call the company and take advantage of the 90 day warranty if it makes the truck run worse.

This POS is only a resistor that fools the computer into thinking the engine temp is always cold. If it is always cold the computer supplies fuel for a cold engine. Your engine is flooded. Pull the spark plugs and clean them. If you can't clean them then replace them. After the plug repair, run the engine hard to clean out the cylinders. Also it would not hurt to change the engine oil as it may have fuel in it.

P.S. Throw the POS in the garbage.

Ya gets what ya pays for. For $20.00 you get to change plugs and oil.
I wish there were $20.00 mods that worked, about the cheapest real mod is a K&N air filter. Don't know if I really got any power boost, but I did get a solid 1/2 more miles per gallon. If you get one be real carefull not to over oil it after cleaning, you can mess up your MAF sensor.
