98 e350 cutaway differential (used RYDER TRUCK)

Noticed Leak Out Of Pinion Seal. Went To Check Fluid And Found A
Long Strip Of Chewed Metal. Have Some Play In The Pinion. Would Like To Have Some Idea Of The Difficulty In Fixing?
Rear End Tag 4-10 F7us-da Door Tag Axle Code Is 52
606028-1
A Dana 70 Full Floating?
Any Comments Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

You may have lost the bearing. The contact between the ring and pinion is set with a gauge and shims. If you continue to use it you may do alot more damage. Get a repair book and look at what is involved. You might be able to take it apart and have someone set it up for you. Then put it back together. You can save some of the cost that way. But be very careful to block the truck up so it won't move. Truck parts you can buy. People parts you can't buy. Good luck.
