Run the vehicle at night in the dark and see if the wires have any blue sparks anywhere especially where they touch ground or each other. Also inspect the wires and look for burnt or charred areas where they come into contact with anything. Bad or old wires can cause voltage leaks which can overload all the ignition components and cause overheating and failure of any of the components, the distributor pickup, the distributor cap, the coil, or the ignition module. Also inspect the inside of the distributor cap and rotor for burnt or corroded terminals and clean or replace the cap and rotor. If you don't find any obvious damage or spark leakage here's what you can try, spray all the wires and distributor with WD-40 and let them sit for about ten minutes, this will draw the moisture from the wires and they should work for about a month if they are bad. This is just a temporary fix and the wires will have to be replaced. Just some things you can try.

Will this be the same part number for a 94 F150? Mines a 5.0 with MAS air. Mine isn't dieing like others in the thread, but it does fill one tank to another. Also is there a specific part number for the sock filters for the fuel pumps?

Green Griffin 420,
You do not have a selector valve on your truck.
You do have a frame mounted filer for the injectors.
There are sock filters in the bottom of each tank for the fuel pumps.
The tank that is filling has a bad check valve inside the tank. That check valve is also inside the Fuel Delivery Module (FDM).

Thanks. I also want to add that mine fills both ways. if the front tank is empty and I fill the rear, the rear will slowly fill the front, and vice verse.

Then you have two FDM with bad valves in them.

i put all new rear tank, both pumps, sending unit, lines, and threw front tank in the garbage where it belongs,no more transfer valve sht, put direct 12v switch to pumps,,,ah so simple,,,do you really need more than 22 gallons? , oh yeah also replaced fuel pressure regulator with a spare one i had off a a 2.3 efi fit right in the fuel rail, the 2.3 uses the same pressure for its efi so i guess its ok, 5.0 1987 econoline runs fine with it and all systems go

I thought they only had 1. Is there one for each tank?

Yes one in each tank for a total of two FDM.
Look at the diagram I posted above.

fordparts.com doesn't show an FDM for my truck. they show a fuel sender and a fuel pump and strainer set. Neither look like the pic above. So i'm a little confused.

I can not make heads or tails out of that site either.
But part stores seem to rename the item to what they think somebody will call it when they ask for it.
They do not seem to care what the Ford shop manuals call it.

Here is one from advance:

You should start your own thread as you will get better responses.

What do you have to work with (volt meter, jumper wires with clips, ...)?
