6 Volt Voltmeter

I am "visiting" from the 61-66 FTE, and have a question. I recently bought a 55 Ford Customline to be a garage mate for my 64 F100. It has the 6 volt system, and I'd like to add a voltmeter to monitor the charging system.

Do any of you who still have 6 volt systems in your Ford truck know where a 6 volt voltmeter can be bought? I'm thinking of the 2" or so size that can mount under the dash. Plenty of 8-18 V gauges are available, but are useless on 6 volts. I tried one that works on my 64, but it won't even register on my 55.

Any help with info will be appreciated.

addendum to signature:
55 Customline - Like the one I had in the 50s

I have never seen such a gauge for a 6 Volt system. The dash gauge was an ammeter, which indicated direction of current flow. Those will work on 6 or 12 Volt Systems.

AC, for a minute I thought you had mis-typed the URL, but quickly figured it out. Unfortunately, they only show 8-18 volt voltmeters. I am searching for one to use in my 55, which is still 6v.

I think you are sol on that one, due to that most of us are going to 12 volts. Due to that it is easyer to find, but I will keep my eyes open for you.

Talk to latter,

AC

The old stuff had amp meters as i remember. I have seen a volt meter that was optional equipment on some older cars and 6v but I dont remember what kind of car it was. I wanna say Chrysler.
