I just found out the tranny in my 51 f-4 needs rebuilding. I'm now debating a swap to either an automatic or a later model 5 speed. I still have the original flathead six that runs great but I have no idea what may bolt up to this block. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where to look for help?

I'm not gonna do much if any hauling with the truck, it's really only going to be a driver. It does have a 5 series rear gear so overdrive is pretty much a necessity!

I know that they make adaptors for a C4, I would assume this might allow an AOD conversion also.
